WHAT IS DTP?

DTP is one of the final phases in a translation or localization project and it entails the redesign of a translated document using page layout software that matches the tool used to create the source file: Translating or localizing does not always end with the rendering of one language to another. The translated text will often have different sentence structure and length when compared to the original document, that is why you would need a Graphic / Typesetting designer to work on the translated file’s format, to ensure consistency with the source file.

Desktop Publishing (DTP), then, entails the development and adaptation of existing documents to fit the format and layout criteria of the target language.
